Children and adolescents, (Niños, Niñas and Adolescentes - NNA in Spanish), of the Normal School Federico Lleras Acosta take classes in their homes listening to the radio station Colombia Stereo, by means of solar radios distributed by the National Army.
Thanks to the social work done by the twenty-eighth Brigade and the Comprehensive Action Battalion No. 8, it was possible to distribute 100 solar radios in Puerto Carreño, Vichada, to improve academic conditions for low-income children and adolescents belonging to the Federico Lleras Acosta School.
In the midst of the current world situation, the National Army has sought to continue to contribute to the stability of this region and to the training of children and adolescents to continue on the way of Education.
Thanks to the management of the radio station Colombia Estereo in Puerto Carreño, Vichada, 130 students of the Federico Lleras Acosta School, from first to fifth grade, have been able to continue their academic classes from home. Due to the current situation and the difficulty of access to the internet signal, this National Army station becomes a vital support for this education community, considering that it is the most popular in most Puerto Carreño homes.
The teachers make the classes by phone call connection with the station on Tuesday and Thursday, the editing and setting of these classes is done through the implementation that they, by themselves, have learned to handle. The result is heard in the morning hours, when students take classes in different areas of knowledge.
The National Army put all its tools at the service of the people so that children and adolescents do not stop studying, despite this difficult time.
