A new operation carried out by the Colombian Air Force, the National Army with the support of the Attorney General's office against drug trafficking, led to the finding and destruction of a rudimentary complex used for the production of cocaine hydrochloride, in the Department of Cauca.
The operation was carried out in Las Palmas, where after a coordinated work, troops were moved on the ground to dismantle a laboratory with the capacity to produce one ton per week. By inspecting the site it was possible to establish that it would cost approximately 800 million pesos.
These constructions would belong to the organized armed group Eln, where several structures were found to house up to 16 people. In the same way, important material was seized such as 10 capacitors, three stoves, a power generator, a thousand liters of cocaine in liquid state, Ten microwave ovens, a hydraulic press, two communication radios, among other elements.
During the operation, relevant procedures were conducted by the technical investigation Corps (CTI) to carry out the destruction of the complex, breaking with the criminal chain that attack on the security of civilians in this region of the national territory.
