The men of the National Army of the Twenty-Second Jungle Brigade of the Fourth Division and the Support Battalion of Comprehensive Action and Development No. 4 and its program Fe in Colombia (Faith in Colombia), carried out, with the support of Casa Social de la Mujer, the Mayor’s office, the National Police and Firefighters, a prevention activity against gender violence in the municipality of El Retorno in the department of Guaviare.
During the day, members of the orchestra livened the activity with a serenade to the inhabitants, while soldiers and support staff conducted cleaning of green areas, garbage collection and fitting a wall to make a mural that reflects the importance and value of women in society.
Waving the flag of one of the most affected municipalities by violence years ago in the department of Guaviare, the team of the social manager accompanied the military personnel while they drew, painted and adapted one of the most visited spaces.
The municipal social manager of El Retorno, Nohra Arias Ramírez, thanked the commitment of the Institution: "I am immensely grateful to the National Army for coming to our municipality to carry out such a pretty social operation. This campaign against gender-based violence is very important to us, and also the beautification of our spaces.”
At the end of the day, a planting activity was carried out in the El Garcero wetland, as a contribution to the reforestation process of the Colombian jungle and the protection of the ecosystem to provide a better environmental future for new generations.
In this way, the men of Comprehensive Action of the National Army in the department of Guaviare, will continue working in coordination with the different institutions to strengthen ties of trust with the inhabitants and ensure the safety and healthy coexistence of all.
