These individuals would have been in charge of illicit operations, such as extortion and drug trafficking.
Troops of the National Army, permanently deployed in military operations against crime in the department of Antioquia, in coordination with the CTI GAULA (ANTI-EXTORTION AND ANTI-KIDNAPPING GROUP) of the Attorney General's Office, and assisting the early warning No. 026 of 2018, they captured five individuals allegedly members of the structure Jairo De Jesús Durango, of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo, who would have been committing criminal operations such as extortions and selective killings.
The troops conducted an impeccable maneuver to capture the individuals known as Asprilla, alias Yeyo, alias Ata, alias Jonatan and alias Coco. The arrest warrants were conducted by the Attorney General's Office with the support of the Army.
Once the legal process of the captures was completed, they were sent to jail for the crimes of manufacture, trafficking and carrying of narcotic drugs, association to commit aggravated crimes, extortion, forced displacement and homicide.
Other three people were arrested during the operation, however, the judicial authorities ordered their release.
With this result, the logistical and financial structures of the structure Jairo de Jesús Durango, of the GAO Clan del Golfo, which has been committing crimes in southwest Antioquia, are severely damaged.
