Three more people of the organized armed group, GAO, Eln, that commits crimes in the south of Bolivar, voluntary surrendered.
Demobilization campaigns carried out by the troops of the Jungle Battalion No.48, of the Joint Task Force MARTE, in coordination with National Police help to achieve the voluntary surrender of three members of the Front Guillermo Ariza, of the Organised Armed Group, GAO, Eln, These three persons came to the premises of the military base in Santa Rosa del Sur, Bolivar, where they expressed their intention of entering the Program of Humanitarian Assistance to the Demobilized.
These people who decide to voluntarily surrender would have completed 6 years within the organization, two of them allegedly as ringleaders of the law and order Group and one as political ringleaders.
Apparently, among the criminal operations carried out by these three people there are the collection of money from extortion, Criminal Intelligence, coercion and threats to civilians. These voluntary surrenders harm the structure of the ELN and its criminal capacity.
The ex-combatants gave three short weapons, a communications radio and material important for military intelligence analysis.
These people will receive the benefits provided by the demobilization plan of the National Government, to enter the civil society and start a new life with their family and under the law.
The First Division of the National Army will continue to carry out military operations guaranteeing respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, in order to weaken terrorist groups that harm the tranquility of the inhabitants in the south of Bolivar. At the same time, it invites the fighters of the criminal structures to return to their homes where surely their relatives are waiting for them.
