Thanks to the immediate reaction and pressure exerted by troops of the Ariari military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the National Army and the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the National Police, it was possible to liberate three citizens.
In the course of an anti-kidnapping and anti-extortion operation, carried out in Las Palmeras village, in the municipality of Vista Hermosa, Meta, it was possible to rescue three contractors kidnapped last November 15, through the modality of false contracting.
According to the authorities, the rescued persons stated that they were contacted last November 14 to carry out an alleged work in the Santo Domingo village, Vista Hermosa municipality, Meta, for which they had to travel from Cundinamarca, to the agreed place, in order to Make the relevant studies for the project.
At noon of November 15, one of the relatives of the victims received a call in which the caller identified himself as a member of the Farc’s dissidents, informing that he had retained three contractors, and that the release would take place after the payment of 30 million pesos. In the same way, they sent a video in which they demonstrate that they indeed had the contractors and that a contribution to the organization had to be given.
Immediately, the family reported the abduction to the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) and the Police, authorities initiated the operation and the movement of units that were sent to the place of the facts, and, through checkpoints, and the support of the citizens, found these three people, who were abandoned by their captors due to the pressure exerted by the troops using the protocols of the Plan Candado; this operations again demonstrates that the institutions working together obtain better results.
The contractors were taken to the municipality of Granada, Meta, where they were received by specialized medical personnel to verify their state of Health, and subsequently manage the reunion with their families.
"We will continue conducting military operations of territorial control in the department of Meta, to find the perpetrators of this abduction to take the relevant actions, and prevent these events re-occurring," said the commander of the Seventh Brigade of the National Army, colonel Juan Carlos Lopez Aristizabal, who in the same way emphasized the importance of the campaign #YoNoPagoYoDenuncio.
