With a development support activity, it was possible to improve the living conditions of more than 4,000 inhabitants of Puerto Ospina, in the municipality of Puerto Leguizamo, and the neighboring province of Sucumbíos, Ecuador.
The National Army, developing strategies that made possible to face critical social indicators and contribute to bring the State's offer to the territories that historically suffered from a social investment deficit, due to geographical factors and violence, carried out for the first time a support activity development in Puerto Ospina, in the Puerto Leguizamo municipality, Putumayo, making this activity a historical event of great relevance for the communities that live in this region.
The activity for which all the resources of the institution were integrated, under the leadership of the Sixth Division and the Support Command of Comprehensive Action and development, led to benefit 4,044 inhabitants of the region and Puerto El Carmen de Putumayo, in the province of Sucumbíos in Ecuador, with services in general medicine, physiotherapy, acupuncture, pediatrics, dentistry, gynecology, pharmacy, and donations such as: school kits, toys, medicines, biosecurity kits, briefcases, clothing and accessories, which were the contribution made by foundations and private companies, that complemented this initiative.
“We really have to thank the National Army for this great activity, because the community does not have access to services because of their distances, because of the many problems that are having in this municipality,” said Fátima Muriel, of the Alliance of women weavers of life of Putumayo.
This activity had the support of the aviation and the Air Assault Division and the Fe program in Colombia of the National Army, the National Navy, the Government of Putumayo and the mayor of Puerto Leguizamo.
