Thanks to the information provided by intelligence, approximately 800 kilograms of creepy-type marijuana was found, valued at more than USD $523,000.
In the course of military operations, troops of Military Gaula Meta (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), in an inter-agency work with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney’s Office, they found approximately 800 kilograms of marijuana belonging to the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo.
The illegal merchandise was found in a truck vehicle, after the review of the canine, who found 534 camouflaged packages wrapped in plastic between sheets of glass. This substance was, due to its color, smell and texture -and according to the samples collected-, cannabis and derivatives thereof.
It is important to emphasize that this result affects the finances of this armed group, because the material found would be valued at more than USD $523,000, which reduces the logistical strengthening of this illegal structure. According to military intelligence, this substance came from the departments of Valle and Cauca, and would have as destinations the south of Meta and Guaviare to be used by micro-trafficking.
The substance found was put into custody of the authorities. In the place there were no captures.
”This result shows, once again, the coordinated work with State institutions to fight against drug trafficking, since our men demonstrate the commitment to the wellbeing of the civilians", said Colonel Juan Carlos López Aristizábal, Commander of the Seventh Brigade of the Army.
