In the operation three individuals were also captured, who are apparently collaborators with the terrorist substructure.
Troops of the Seventh Division (Joint Task Force Titan), in conjunction with the Colombian Air Force, in coordination with the National Police and in an inter-agency work with the Attorney General's Office, in assistance to early warning 049 of 2019, dealt a hard blow to the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo, in the department of Chocó.
After a combat against members of the Carlos Vásquez substructure of the illegal group, in the sector of Puerto Nemota, Quibdó, the soldiers captured four of its members, among them alias Visaje, who was the squad ringleader, and alias Guacho, who was the head of security of alias Tajada, main ringleader of this criminal organization. In the same way were also captured aliases Dubán and Alacrán.
The operation, in which the soldiers once again demonstrated absolute respect for Human Rights and the implementation of the norms of International Humanitarian Law, led to the seizure of three rifles, ammunition for them, magazines and military and communications material.
This result allows to neutralize terrorist operations that the GAO Clan del Golfo intended to conduct against civilians and Military Forces in the department of Chocó.
Those captured and the material found was put into custody of the authorities.
