This individual is accused to have belonged to the Residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-r) Estructura Sexta Jaime Martínez, from which he would have fled to organize a new gang that generated confrontations, causing the massacre in this area of northern Cauca.
In an operation, the National Army captured in flagrante Jhon Fredy Caicedo Martínez, known by the alias Moyo, who had capture order issued by the Municipal Court of Buenos Aires, Cauca, for the crime of homicide.
This individual would have been in charge of carrying out targeted killings, collection of money from extortion and coordination for the acquisition of war material, explosives, military accessories and other elements required by the armed group.
According to the authorities, alias Moyo caused the massacre in the Munchique village, rural area of Buenos Aires, Cauca, on September 20, 2020, where six people were killed and one more injured.
In the same way, this individual would have fled the ranks of the GAO-R Estructura Sexta Jaime Martínez and formed his own gang, which would be threaten social leaders, councilors, mayors and other personalities of the region. He would also extorted and intimidated civilians, in order to obtain resources to strengthen his gang. For this reason, he was considered as the objective of the Plan de Acción Oportuna (Timely Operation Plan) –PAO.
At the time of his capture, a revolver, ammunition of different calibers, a shotgun, a hand grenade and communication elements were seized. Alias Moyo and the material found were put into custody of the authorities to continue the judicial process.
As the Ombudsman's Office has warned through the issued early alerts, the displacements of the inhabitants of the municipalities of Suárez and Buenos Aires, Cauca, have been generated as a result of the constant clashes between the armed groups that commit crimes there, including the alias Moyo gang; violating the human rights of the inhabitants of this region of the country.
