The material was hidden in sacks, underground, on the banks of the San Miguel river.
In a joint and coordinated operation troops of the National Army, the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Air Force belonging to the Joint Command No.3. Suroriente and with the support of the National Police, find and subsequently destroyed more than 1,500 kilograms of explosives, type Anfo, in the area known as hamlet Tres Islas, in the municipality of San Miguel, southwest of the Department of Putumayo.
The result came thanks to intelligence information obtained by The Sixth Division and the Southern Naval Force that led to find the exact place where the GAO was trying to hide this dangerous cargo, which apparently belonged to the residual organized armed group, Gao-r, structure 48, who call themselves Comandos de Frontera.
This material would be used to attack members of the Military Forces who work in the sector and the critical infrastructure of the State.
