In development of the military operation, three individuals were killed; one woman was captured, she had been wounded, she was assisted by the military; two other men submitted to justice.
In development of military operations, conducted in the north of Antioquia, in assistance to Early Warning No.004 of the 2020 of the Defensoría del Pueblo, troops of the Seventh Division of the National Army, engaged combat against members of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, substructure Edwin Román Velásquez.
The action occurred in the village Las Cuatro, in the municipality of Ituango, Antioquia. Soldiers of the Fourth Brigade, with the support of the Colombian Air Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's office, after a detailed planning, conducted the operation, resulting in the death in the course of military operations of three members of the gang.
In the same way, a woman who would be part of this structure, was wounded and immediately ,in accordance with the provisions of International Humanitarian Law, was assisted on the site by military combat nurses, the same to whom minutes earlier she had shot.
There she was given with first aid and then she was evacuated in a helicopter specially equipped for this kind of situations to a care center, where the respective medical assistance is provided. Finally, two other individuals were brought to justice. In the operation were found by troops four rifles, as well as military accessories and communications material.
It should be noted that previously in this sector, there had been a series of homicides, drug trafficking, extortions and forced recruitment, criminal conducts perpetrated by these organized armed groups, who were disturbing the stability and security of the municipality's community, violating Human rights of civilians.
