Thirteen individuals were captured. They would have marketed the drug in international markets for a cost of about one hundred million euros.
Thirteen individuals responsible for drug trafficking to European markets, members of the organization of alias Cheo, were captured by troops of the Colombian Navy and officials of the Attorney General's office, in simultaneous operations carried out in Barranquilla, Cartagena and Santa Marta.
This gang at the service of the GAO Clan del Golfo would be responsible for the shipment of large quantities of cocaine in the form of container contamination in different port terminals in the Caribbean region.
The operations conducted in urban areas of the three main cities, led to the capture of these individuals in their places of residence, complying with court orders, after more than a year of monitoring and intelligence by officials of the Attorney General's office and intelligence agencies of the Military Forces.
Among those captured, there is alias Cheo, responsible for the Coordination of the criminal organization that had links in the organized armed group, Gao, Clan del Golfo, for the collection, shipment and trafficking of the illicit substance to European markets, getting about 100 million euros from the marketing of the drug.
The Military Forces and State agencies will continue to work in a coordinated manner to counter the criminal activities of drug trafficking organizations in the Colombian Caribbean, while reaffirming their commitment to the fight against the factors of instability in the region.
