In an immediate reaction, the Colombian Air Force (FAC) transported two minors aboard a Black Hawk helicopter, who minutes earlier and accompanied by their relatives were allegedly attacked by Organized Armed Groups while traveling on a boat along the Napi River, in Guapi, in the department of Cauca.
The victims of the attack were taken by the National Navy to an assistance center in the municipality of Guapi, where primary care was provided, but due to the severity of the injuries it was required prompt assistance in a higher level hospital, so air support was essential to transport the kids to the capital city of Valle del Cauca.
Through the National Center for Personnel Recovery (CNRP) of the FAC, a UH-60 Angel helicopter was deployed to carry out the aeromedical transfer, and thus be able to save the kids’ lives, who -after a one-hour flight- arrived in stable conditions in Cali, where they receive specialized care.
The events occurred when a family traveled aboard a boat from the municipality of Calle Larga to Guapi. On the route, they were attacked by several shots, which unfortunately killed a 19 years girl and three persons were injured, among them the two minors taken to the medical center.
