Units of the Colombian Navy, in charge of border river control, were attacked with a Rudimentary Explosive Device (AEI). Two members of the institution were injured and another one was stunned by the blast wave.
The event took place yesterday, February 9, in the sector known as Barrio Santa Fe, near the CAI (Immediate Attention Command) Malecón, on the shore of the Arauca River.
According to the first investigations, the terrorist attack was allegedly perpetrated by the Residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-R) Estructura 10, under the command of alias Arturo, as retaliation because of the river control operations that have led to excellent results, since the crime groups in the sector have been weakened.
The Naval institution rejects these terrorist acts that have a negative impact on the progress, wellbeing and development of the region.
