The arrest took place in the sector of Mondomo, in the municipality of Santander de Quilichao. This individual is accused of extorting traders, ranchers, transporters and peasants of the region.
Troops of the National Army, in development of coordinated and interagency military operations with the Police and the Attorney’s Office, complied the arrest order issued by the Attorney's Office 8 of Santander de Quilichao against the individual known as Chorizo, for the crime of association to commit crimes and aggravated homicide.
This individual would belong to the fifth subgroup of the Residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-r) Estructura Sexta Jaime Martínez. He also would have participated in the criminal acts that occurred on September 20, 2020, in the village of Munchique, in the municipality of Buenos Aires, Cauca, where six people were killed and another one was injured.
He also would be responsible for the killings that occurred on January 11, 2019, in the sector of Villa Colombia, in the village of Las Brisas, municipality of Jamundí, Valle del Cauca, where four people were killed.
According to the authorities, he extorted merchants, transporters, peasants and ranchers in this region of the department.
This capture hits the illegal finances of this Residual Organized Armed Group and the terrorist attacks against civilians and Military Forces in the municipalities of Buenos Aires, Suárez and Santander de Quilichao, in the north of Cauca and Jamundí, Valle del Cauca.
