In less than a week, nine people were captured and a minor belonging to the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo and Los Caparros was recovered.
During four operations of the Colombian Navy, the National Army, the National Police and the Attorney General's office, it was possible to capture nine alleged members of organized armed groups, GAO, and recover a minor who would be part of the organized criminal structure.
The first event took place in the sector known as El Bosque, rural area of Tarazá, Antioquia. There troops of the river Battalion of the Navy Infantry No.17 in a joint search and river control operation with members of the National Army attached to Joint Task Force Aquiles, captured four suspected members of the organized armed group, Gao, GAO, Clan del Golfo. Troops also captured on board a boat three nine-millimeter rifles, two 30-millimeter revolvers, three pistol magazines, 191 cartridges of different calibers and three cell phones.
Hours later, in the municipality of Cáceres, units of the Colombian Navy, the National Army and the Attorney General's office, in compliance with a court order, captured alias La Presi, required for the crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes and homicide and accused of allegedly being the head of Finance of the group called Evangélico of the organized armed group Los Caparros.
Simultaneously, in the municipality of Puerto Viejo and in the municipality of San Onofre, troops of the Military Gaula – Sucre, in coordination with the National Police and the office of the Prosecutor General of the Nation, captured in the street two individuals, alleged members of the substructure Manuel José Gaitán of the GAO Clan del Golfo, who had an arrest warrant for the crime of conspiracy to commit crimes for the purposes of murder, extortion and drug trafficking, which apparently committed crimes in the region of the Gulf of Morrosquillo, and the Montes de María.
Finally, in the Gulf of Urabá, in a joint and coordinated operation, it was possible to capture in flagrante delicto two alleged members of the Efrén Vargas Gutiérrez substructure of the GAO GAO, who had two AK-47 rifles, two magazines, 47 cartridges caliber 7.62 millimeters and three radio transmitters.
