The Naval Academy of Cadets Almirante Padilla, as a military naval training academy and Maritime University, actively participates in the formation of the national network of Ocean seedlings, an initiative coordinated by the National Technical Committee of maritime education of the Colombian Ocean Group in which eight universities in the country currently participate.
Recently, the first meeting was held to establish objectives and thematic focuses for the collaborative work conducted by the different institutions. In this environment, the Naval Cadet School, through the participation of Professor Rosana Adames, Coordinator of the research seedlings of the Faculty of Physical Oceanography, presented the formative research model of the institution and lines of research.
A positive aspect to highlight as a result of this first meeting is that the thematic axis of Physical Oceanography, which initially had not been contemplated for the formation of the network, was already included among the proposals to be carried out by the group.
The process of defining this novel national network continues its course of conformation, while the Naval Cadet School Almirante Padilla reaffirms its commitment to the strengthening of maritime and river education, with the promotion of formative research as a fundamental part in knowledge management.
