In development of the National Vaccination Plan of the military forces against COVID-19, PANACEA, 18 Naval Health members, corresponding to the care personnel prioritized in the vaccination plan, received the first dose of the vaccine against COVID-19, in the Military Health establishment, at the Naval Cadet School Almirante Padilla.
“With this activity we take another step in the fight against COVID-19. Vaccination leads to a decrease in the incidence of severe cases, complications and deaths due to COVID-19 and reduces the contagion of our personnel,” said Corvette Captain Tatiana Sánchez Piedrahita, head of the Military Health establishment of the Naval School.
The activity began at 8 in the morning, under a strict protocol that included the filling of the forms consent, the vaccination and a period of observation of 30 minutes, where potential adverse events were monitored.
"Today I received the first dose of the vaccine. This is an incentive for us, which leads us to continue fulfilling our work as nurses in order to provide support to all our users”, said Petty Officer Segundo Jorge Coronel Molina, military nurse of the Military Health establishment.
The Military Health establishment of the Naval institution is responsible for providing support to all the students, military and civilians of the Naval Cadet School.
With this, the national PANACEA vaccination Plan against COVID-19 advances this process seeks to reduce deaths, reduce the incidence of severe cases and reduce contagion in the users of the health subsystem of military forces in each of the prioritized stages.
