This year, the Colombian Navy has found about 27 tons of cocaine hydrochloride in the Pacific region.
In the course of military search and area control operations, the Colombian navy seized more than 200 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride in the municipality of Arusí, in the municipality of Nuquí, in the Department of Chocó, apparently belonging to the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
Guided by Naval Intelligence Information, members of the Navy Infantry Battalion No. 23, attached to the Navy Brigade No.2, find illegal merchandise that was buried underground on the Bank of the Arusisito stream, distributed in 11 bags containing inside 216 rectangular packages with a substance that by its characteristics resembled cocaine hydrochloride. No arrests were reported during the operation.
The material was put into custody of the authorities who conducted the approved preliminary identification test - PIPH-to the illegal merchandise, testing positive for 216 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
The illegal goods that would cost more than seven million dollars in the International illegal market would be transported by sea to North America.
