The drug shipment would have been transported from the municipality of Corinto, department of Cauca, and the purpose of the criminal structure would be to commercialize it, through microtraffing, in Medellín, Antioquia.
In the course of a territorial and inter-agency control operation, troops of the National Army and the prosecutor's Office found a shipment containing 490 kilograms of creepy-type marijuana, which had been stored in a vehicle. This drug would cost about 18,000 million pesos abroad.
The military operation was carried out on the sector Pan de Azucar, in the municipality of Caldas, in the Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley, and was made possible thanks to the skill of the soldiers and to the permanent intelligence, which led to the finding and subsequent search of the vehicle that was traveling through the Panamerican highway, which connects Cauca department to the department of Antioquia.
In addition to the van that contained the drugs, there would be three more vehicles that would be escorting the first during the journey, to verify the existence of the checkpoints of the authorities on the track, in order to alert the driver of the car, who took different routes to evade checkpoints. Currently the vehicles are searched by the authorities.
