This man would have participated in the homicide, of a member of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Los Caparros, in the midst of the dispute between these groups for the control of illegal activities in the Lower Cauca region in Antioquia.
In military operations, troops of the National Army, in coordination with the police, and in response to the recommendations of early alerts 028 of 2018, 020, 026 and 035 of 2019, of the Ombudsman's Office, detained the individual known as Pipe, who would be a member of the GAO Clan del Golfo, in the urban center of the municipality of Tarazá, in the lower Cauca region, in the department of Antioquia.
The military arrived at the site where the murder occurred, apparently a member of the GAO Los Caparros. Troops arrested alias Pipe, who would be the perpetrator of the crime.
This individual had in his possession a firearm and ammunition. The arrested individual and the material found were put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution.
The National Army will continue to launch military operations in the Lower Cauca in Antioquia and southern Córdoba, to counter the groups outlaw, and in the same way, protect the inhabitants and neutralize any criminal operation.
