This finding significantly reduces the illicit enrichment of criminal structures with money from the drug trafficking chain for the acquisition of war material and military and communications accessories.
Within the framework of the frontal fight against the problem of drug trafficking, a criminal activity that contributes to the pollution of the environment, biodiversity and water, troops of the Joint Task Force Omega, in military operations found two clandestine infrastructures in which members of the residual organized armed group, GAO-r, Fernando Díaz, produced coca base paste.
The two illegal laboratories were found by troops of the Ground Operations Battalion No.70 in the municipality El Parque, municipality of San Vicente Del Caguán, Caquetá.
Using search and military control of the area, the soldiers found the rudimentary structures, 142 gallons of gasoline, 36 gallons of gasoline mixed with the drug to extract 19 kg with 475 grams of coca base paste, 40 sacks of lime, 10 plastic barrels of five gallons of gasoline, two bags of urea, two barrels of 55 gallons of gas processed with shredded sheets of coca, a hydraulic press, a gallon of poison and a 55 gallon plastic barrels.
The Judicial Police carried out the respective judicial procedure and proceeded to the controlled destruction of the two infrastructures, elements and liquid and solid precursors.
The Joint Task Force Omega will continue to conduct military operations with the mission of damaging the main source of funding of the GAO-r and preserving the biome of the Colombian Amazonas region, contributing to the preservation of the environment and wellbeing of the inhabitants of Caquetá, Meta and Guaviare.
