Troops of the National Army in a joint work with the Naval Force of the South, find 704 kilograms of coca base paste that were transported in a boat moving along the Putumayo River.
The operation took place at a river control checkpoint in the sector known as Bocas del Caucayá, in Puerto Leguízamo, where a boat did not attend the call of the military and escaped; however, the rapid reaction of the National Army and the Navy caused the crew to leave the boat on the Bank of the river.
The material apparently belonged to the residual organized armed group, Gao-r, structure 48, self-named Commandos of the Border, who have their criminal activity in this sector of the Department. The criminals intended to transport the hallucinogen through this tributary to be distributed in the neighboring country of Ecuador.
