This activity was possible thanks to the commitment of the crew of the Santa Marta Coast Guard Station, with the support of professionals of the Naval Reserve and representatives of the Community Action Board of the community of Don Jaca, who distributed 100 food baskets, footwear, clothing and school kits to the inhabitants of the sector.
The humanitarian aid was distributed by adopting biosecurity measures by the crew, in order to prevent the contagion and spread of the COVID-19 virus, protecting the members of the community and organizers.
With this activity, the Naval institution helps mitigate some of the basic needs of vulnerable families that were harmed in their economic activity because of the pandemic. This type of activities seeks to contribute to the comprehensive development of children, show the commitment of the Colombian Navy to support social events that favor the youngest inhabitants who live in the region.
