About 190 soldiers guard the roads so that vehicles with food circulate peacefully and help to load and unload food.
In military assistance tasks to support the defence of civil authority, the National Army continues to guarantee the supply chain and productivity in the city of Cali and its neighboring municipalities.
This is how since last week has been carrying out accompaniment to cargo vehicles that transport food and essential products, to contribute to food security and economic development in the region.
In a joint and coordinated manner with the police and the Air Force, more than 9,000 tons of food, mainly legumes, meats, dairy products, grains and groceries have been brought to the Valle del Cauca Supply Center, CAVASA and the satellite galleries of Cali.
These essential products have been transported in about 500 trucks and cargo vehicles, which have arrived thanks to a complete security operation organized by the National Army with the aim of guaranteeing the supply to citizens.
In the same way, members of the Military Forces have supported the merchants of the place with the loading and unloading of the elements, in order to speed up the movement and led the food to arrive fresh and quickly to the table of the Caleños and the neighboring municipalities.
