In the course of river operations on the Putumayo River, Colombian Navy units found more than 3,900 gallons of fuel, in an operation that took place at the main pier of the municipality of Puerto Leguízamo, Putumayo, where troops found this precursor that were being transported illegally in a wooden courier ship.
During the inspection carried out by troops of the Navy River Battalion No.30, the ship named El Satelite was found to be manned by a man, who carried 3,156 gallons of gasoline and 770 gallons of DIESEL, without complying with the provisions for the transport of controlled substances in accordance with resolution 001 of January 08, 2015 of the National Narcotics Council, which establishes controls on substances and chemical products. The man and the material were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office.
The Colombian Navy, through its units conducts in the rivers of the south of the country operations to ensure compliance with existing regulations for the transport of fuel. In the same way, it invites the community to denounce the criminal organizations at the service of smuggling and drug trafficking that commit crimes in this region of the country.
