In support of the community of Acandí, Department of Chocó, the Colombian Navy transported in the Logistic Support Ship ARC Golfo de Morrosquillo, two spare parts for the electricity generators of this municipality of Choco, which only have the capacity to supply electricity 12 hours a day, to about 3,800 houses and businesses.
This coordinated maritime transport operation conducted by Counter-Narcotics Task Force No. 73 Neptuno, the Naval Force of the Caribbean, the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the Governor of the Department of Chocó and the Municipality of Acandí, led to the arrival of the two radiators donated by the Institute of Planning and Promotion of Energy Solutions for Not Interconnected Areas –IPSE in spanish - which, because of its characteristics and dimensions, required to be transported in a ship of logistical support.
Once the spare parts are installed by staff of Casa Inglesa Colombia, the municipality of Acandí (Department of Chocó) will be able to count on the electric power service again 24 hours a day. In this way, the Colombian Navy contributes to the restoration of continuous electric service, benefiting about 13 thousand of Acandi people.
Alexander Murillo Robledo, Mayor of Acandí, thanked the Colombian Navy for its support. "Today we see a different face of the Navy, a social face, and it is something that fills us with pride. We value and appreciate this work that the Navy does for our municipality and the people of Acandi," he ratified.
The Colombian Navy, through the Caribbean Naval Force, reaffirms once again its commitment and support to the most vulnerable communities throughout the territory, and will put at the service of the inhabitants all their logistical Resources and human talent, in order to provide well-being and guarantee basic services to Colombians within the framework of the Unified operation of the State.
