In a coordinated and inter-institutional operation between the National Army, the National Police and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, it was possible to recover a girl, who would have been used to collect money of extortion by the Organized Gang, GDO, Los 25, which would be at the service of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
This result occurred in the urban area of the municipality of Paz de Ariporo, department of Casanare, where a minor was apprehended, when apparently receiving money from extortion against a cattle rancher in the region. A mobile phone and a considerable amount of cash were seized during the operation. The material found was put into custody of the authority .
This organized gang, in its criminal practice, would be recruiting minors to collect money from extortion and intimidate civilians. The minor was put under the protection of the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute (ICBF).
The National Army will continue to carry out operations that support strategies against illegal recruitment to protect the rights of children and adolescents in the region; at the same time it seeks to prevent these criminal groups from continuing to generate fear in the community.
