In operations carried out by units of the Colombian Navy in conjunction with the National Army on the Pacific Coast of the department of Cauca, five illegal laboratories used for the production of coca paste, belonging to the Organized Armed Group Residual Estructura 30 Rafael Aguilera, were found by troops and destroyed.
The operation conducted by the troops of the Navy River Battalion No.42, in the sectors of San José del Guaviare and El Carmelo of the municipality of Guapi (Cauca), led to the finding of the five drug trafficking infrastructures that had the capacity to process approximately 500 kilograms of coca base paste monthly.
Inside were found by troops 2,384 gallons of liquid precursors, 400 kilograms of solid precursors and 930 kilograms of coca leaf, elements that were used for drug production. Three shotguns, cartridges and different equipment and items used for the production of narcotics were in the same way found in the areas. All five laboratories were destroyed in controlled conditions according to established protocols.
With these decisive blows inflicted by the Colombian Navy, the logistic structure of the Organized Armed Group – Residual, Structure 30 Rafael Aguilera, which commits crimes in the departments of Cauca and Nariño, will be hit; in the same way, one of the main links in the chain of drug trafficking will be hit, since coca base paste is the main precursor in the phase of crystallization of the narcotic.
Other operations
In another security and military control operation carried out in the municipality of Guapi, on the coast of Caucana, the troops of the River Battalion of Navy Infantry No.42 together with the National Army, find two monitors, a pump foot and 40 gallons of petroleum, which were transported in a canoe-type boat and would be used by an Organized Gang in the area to carry out illegal mining.
