Operations were concentrated in the municipalities of Pitalito and Oporapa in southern Huila.
The coordinated work conducted by soldiers of the Magdalena Battalion of the Ninth Brigade and members of the Police, led, once again, to neutralize the plans of criminal drug trafficking groups. They achieved the confiscation of 195 gallons of liquid supplies and 11 kilos of creepy marijuana.
Regardless of the strategy used by drug traffickers, the Military Forces have intensified their operations to neutralize this criminal activity that aims to use the department of Huila as a mobility route for the transport of illicit substances.
In El Cedro, in the municipality of Pitalito, a thorough search on a truck-type vehicle led to notice that under baskets of vegetables, 39 plastic containers with 195 gallons of sulfuric acid were being transported. The substance valued at approximately 12 million pesos would apparently be used for the production of narcotics.
The arrested individual was brought to the authorities for the crime of trafficking in chemical precursors for the production of narcotic drugs, according to article 382 of the Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, in Oporapa Huila, controls operations against drug trafficking led to the finding of 11 kilos of cripy-type marijuana. The hallucinogenic substance was abandoned by two individuals when they noticed the work of the Military Forces.
When the two men noticed the checkpoint installed on the road, they decided to escape leaving a sack that contained the narcotic distributed in 21 packages of ziploc bags.
The illicit substance with a cost in the illicit market of five million pesos, came from the department of Cauca and would be destined for the city of Neiva where it would be distributed by doses, increasing its price.
