Colombian National Army, in the department of Meta, has among the most relevant duties the preservation of the environment and biodiversity, the protection of the fauna of the Colombian Orinoquía region; it is an operation carried out in coordination with the environmental authorities and community to ensure preservation and safety of nature.
Troops of the Alban Engineering Battalion No.7 of the Seventh Brigade in coordination with the Corporation for Sustainable Development of the Special Management area La Macarena, Cormacarena, carried out the rescue of a tamanduá or melero bear (Tamandua tetradactyla) in Chichimene, municipality of Acacías, Meta.
