Following the environmental policies of the Colombian Air Force, personnel of the Amazon Air Group rescued and released a caiman, approximately two meters long, missing inside the facilities of the Military Air Unit.
The black caiman, scientifically called Melanosuchus Niger, which belongs to the family of alligatorids, was rescued by trained military personnel, and professional staff of Corpoamazonia, who using the necessary protection measures and precautions, helped and verified the health status of the wild animal.
The mission was carried out thanks to the work conducted by the military personnel of the Environmental Element of GAAMA and Corpoamazonia, environmental authority to which the caiman was handed over to subsequently manage the reincorporation of the animal in its natural habitat.
The Colombian Air Force works with commitment for the protection and conservation of wildlife, strengthening its Resources, knowledge, alliances and strategies for the protection of fauna and flora in the south of the country.
