In an aeromedical humanitarian assistance operation, two women were evacuated from Providencia to San Andrés in a Colombian Navy helicopter. One of them had a fracture of the tibia and fibula; the other person had suffered wounds in the head.
As part of the ongoing support provided to the local hospital on the island of Providencia, the Specific Command of San Andrés y Providencia assisted the emergency call of its medical staff, who required the evacuation to the capital city of the Archipelago of two patients who needed specialized care after one of them suffered an accident and the other a fall.
The Navy sent a Naval Aviation helicopter to Providencia, thus leading the transfer of these two adult women accompanied by medical personnel from Providencia to San Andrés, where they were received by a medical and assistance team that later transferred them in an ambulance to the Clarence Lynd Newball Memorial Hospital where they received the required care.
