Alias Henry and alias Casillas are accused of having participated in the murder of indigenous governor Javier Urágama Chamorro in June 2020.
Alias Rambo would be in charge of coordinating criminal activities for the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo in the sector of La Bocana, rural area of Buenaventura.
During two operations carried out in the rural area of the municipality of Buenaventura – Valle del Cauca, and the urban area of the municipality of Bajo Baudó – Department of Chocó, it was possible to arrest three alleged members of the GAO Clan del Golfo who would be responsible for coordinating criminal operations against civilians and Military Forces.
The first operation was carried out jointly by the Colombian Navy and the National Army and coordinated with the National Police in La Bocana. It was possible to arrest alias Rambo, who would be in charge of criminal control of this sector and of coercing the inhabitants who live in this part of Buenaventura.
In the second operation, carried out by the Navy of Colombia in coordination with the National Police in the municipality of Bajo Baudó – Department of Chocó, was arrested alias Henry and alias Casillas, allegedly in charge of making criminal operations as extortion of merchants, targeted killings, trafficking of drugs, weapons and conduct coordination of logistics for this gang.
These individuals are accused of planning terrorist attacks against the Military Forces, causing anxiety and fear in civilians and having participated in the murder of indigenous governor Javier Urágama Chamorro in June 2020.
The constant work of the Military Forces in the different communities of the Colombian Pacific coast and the permanent operations aim to deny urban, rural, maritime and river spaces to criminal organizations that cause fear and confinement in the inhabitants of the region. In the same way, the effective work of the Military Forces and the National Police seeks to protect the human and ancestral rights of the different ethnic communities of the coast and neutralize the intention of expansion and alliances conducted by the conditions and individuals that generate violence and fear in the inhabitants.
