The Command of the Twenty-Second Jungle Brigade, a unit of the Fourth Division of the National Army, reports:
1. On January 30, 2022, it is known, through news in the media, about the loss by an improvised explosive device of an indigenous child of the Jiw ethnic group in the town of El Barrancón, apparently in proximity of a military unit.
2. The National Army, once it learned of the situation, carried out the relevant checks and controls to evaluate whether in the facilities of the Instruction and Training Battalion No.22 any controlled destruction of explosive devices had been carried out in recent days, concluding that there were no such activities in the military units or their periphery.
3. Similarly, the National Army remains attentive to the results of the investigation currently carried out by the Prosecutor's Office in Guaviare and, in compliance with the constitutional principle of harmonious collaboration among the institutions, will be ready to support the clarification of these events.
