Trained personnel of the different components of the Caribbean Naval Force exercised control in the maritime areas and insular zones of the Colombian Caribbean working for the full enjoyment of more than 330 thousand inhabitants and tourists who visited the Colombian maritime spaces.
During this season, Colombian Navy crew members safeguard the human lives of 53 people in 15 search and rescue operations.
16,226 ships traveled by the different maritime and river areas, carrying 330,242 people.
A positive report on maritime and rivers security is the result of the tourist season carried out by December 15, 2020 and January 30, 2022, in different places of the colombian Caribbean, thanks to the operation of the sailors and navy men of the Navy of Colombia.
Maritime, river and land units attached to the Caribbean Naval Force carried out security, control and surveillance operations on beaches, bays, coasts and rivers, as well as on the main roads and rural areas of the Colombian Caribbean, leading safe transport for the enjoyment of the maritime and river spaces of 330,242 locals and tourists.
In this season, the Rapid Reaction Units-URR-of the different Coast Guard Stations of the Caribbean, safeguard the lives of 53 people who had emergency at sea and provided support to three ships that had failures during their travels, safeguarding the lives of their passengers.
Marine Infantry troops on the roads and rivers carried out 815 checkpoints, inspecting 80,436 people, 22,260 vehicles and 8,460 boats; they in the same way provided medical assistance to six people who were involved in traffic accidents on the Bolivarian roads where the institution carried out control patrols.
