Troops of the National Army in the Caribbean region of Colombia, arrested in the Upper Guajira region, an individual accused of belonging to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, who had in his possession several firearms.
The military operation that led to the arrest of this individual was carried out in the sector known as Maracaibito, in the municipality of Maicao, La Guajira, after the troops of the Medium Armored Cavalry Group General Gustavo Matamoros DCosta found this person traveling on a motorcycle, escaping upon seeing the troops.
At the time of his arrest, troops seized four small firearms, six magazines, ammunition, two communication radios, three cell phones, a motorcycle and two notebooks with information on merchants and members of productive groups in the region.
He was given to the authorities; he will be prosecuted for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possessing firearms.
