The commitment of the troops and the fight against the recruitment of minors are permanent, that is why Soldiers of Comprehensive Action of the National Army join forces to protect the rights of our Colombian children and adolescents.
According to studies by the Human Rights Organization, one in four combatants belonging to illegal armed groups in the country is a minor, and in the past two years 104 children and adolescents have been forcibly recruited by illegal armed groups.
In this way, the National Army, accompanied by its Comprehensive Action Battalions, continues to work for counteracting these criminal operations, carrying out campaigns in the different territories of the country to stop the increase in these figures at the National level.
This year, the Comprehensive Action and Development Battalion No.4 has carried out about 40 activities in the department of Meta, Guaviare and Vaupés to prevent forced recruitment. With prevention campaigns, loudspeakers, checkpoints and distribution of brochures, troops are looking after the well-being of our young people and children.
About more than 1,200 activities of the Comprehensive Action and Development Support Brigade No.4 of the National Army, have been carried out in order to prevent this problem.
Today, once again, the National Army reaffirms its commitment to ensure the safety of our children.
