The Joint Stabilization and Consolidation Task Force Hercules, in development of a coordinated and inter-institutional military operation, the National Army, the National Police and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, reported the arrest of alias Eliecer, group ringleader of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Ariel Aldana Structure, in the Miramar neighborhood, of the Tumaco district, in the department of Nariño.
According to military intelligence information, alias Eliecer, would be in charge of coordinating and directing terrorist operations against the Military Forces, the collection of money extorted from merchants in the urban area of the municipality of Barbacoas. He would in the same way be responsible for several murders of social leaders including that of the cultural leader Esnaider Javier Castillo Ortiz, who was murdered, on December 27, 2021.
In the same way, he would be the one who led the confrontations against members of the western coordinating command for the dispute of the control of the drug trafficking routes, on the Patía River, municipality of Magüí Payan.
The arrested individual was put into custody of the Attorney General's Office for the respective prosecution and will have to face charges of aggravated homicide, manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms or ammunition.
With this result, the armed component of this criminal organization, responsible for homicides, criminal acts and confrontations with other structures of drug trafficking, will be hit.
