In compliance with the Heroes de la Libertad Bicentenary Campaign Plan, the Hercules Joint Stabilization and Consolidation Task Force, in development of military operations conducted by the National Army, the Colombian Navy, in coordination with the National and Inter-Institutional Police with the Attorney General's Office, it was possible to decisively beat the Organized Armed Groups, which commit crimes in the Nariño Pacific regions with the arrest of 13 members and the finding of war material in the Tumaco district, in Nariño.
In the first operation, troops of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.4, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), the Urban Special Forces group of the National Army, in coordination with the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the National Police, after several days follow-up they reported the arrest alias Cachetes, who would be in charge of coordinating criminal activities such as kidnapping and extortion of the merchants of Tumaco. In the same way troops reported the arrest seven individuals, who would be part of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Western Bloc Alfonso Cano, which received orders from this individual to intimidate the productive groups of merchants, transporters and entrepreneurs of the hotel sector of the Tumaco district.
In the second operation, through military intelligence, troops of the Rapid Deployment Force No.2 they carried out a raid on a hotel in the municipality of Llorente by court order, where it was possible to arrest six alleged members of the Urias Rondón gang.
During the operations, five pistols, three revolvers, a hand grenade, ammunition and abundant ammunition and six cell phones were found by troops. The material found and the arrested were put into custody of the authorities for prosecution.
With this result, the armed component of these criminal organizations, responsible for homicides, criminal acts and confrontations with other structures of drug trafficking, will be hit.
