With the aim of continuing to strengthen cooperation ties in security matters, a delegation of the National Aeronautical Service (SENAN) of Panama visited the facilities of the Maintenance Air Command (CAMAN), in order to learn about the distinctive and strategic solutions related to the logistical support and maintenance of helicopters and aircraft of the Colombian Air Force.
The Air Maintenance Command is recognized for the growth, development and technological evolution in aviation. Colonel Eduardo Restrepo Galeano, Commander of CAMAN, received the foreign personnel and made them aware of the important mission in aeronautical maintenance that this Unit fulfills, for the preparation and airworthiness of the aircraft of the most beloved institutions in Colombians.
Subsequently, they attended a tour by the different repair and overhaul workshops and hangars of more than 2,584 different components, which directly impact the operation of Air Force aircraft. In the same way, they knew the innovation, research and development projects of the aeronautical industry, in which the major maintenance tasks of the AC-47T, C-212 and UH-1H a HUEY II helicopter, among others, are vital.
Finally, in order to strengthen bilateral education agreements for technological instruction and military training, the attendees got to know firsthand the facilities of the high-quality accredited Higher Education Institution, the Non-Commissioned Officers School CT. Andrés M. Díaz, as well as the military and academic resources of each of the eight technologies aligned for excellence for the training of the Air Force Non-Commissioned Officers of the future.
