Alias Miura or Maldito Patrik was one of the most wanted criminals in the department, for which a reward of 25 million pesos was provided to whoever gave information for his arrest.
In a joint and coordinated operation, units of the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Air Force and the National Police arrested alias Miura or Maldito Patrik, alleged ringleader of the Manuel José Gaitán substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo that commits crimes in the department of Sucre.
Troops of the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Air Force, the Criminal Investigation Directorate and Interpol -DIJIN- of the National Police arrived at the Pajonalito settlement in the municipality of San Onofre, Sucre, to arrest this alleged armed ringleader of the Manuel José Gaitán Substructure of the GAO Clan del Golfo. At the time of the arrest, a pistol, 13 cartridges, a magazine, a notebook with information alluding to the GAO Clan del Golfo and two cell phones were found by troops.
The individual was in the list of the most wanted in the department of Sucre, to answer to the authorities for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking, possession of a firearm and/or ammunition, as well as by the offence of conspiracy to commit crimes, aggravated for the purposes of murder, drug trafficking and extortion all this with arrest warrant issued by the Municipal judge from Sincelejo.
According to the investigations of the authorities, alias Miura or Maldito Patrik has an extensive criminal history of more than 10 years, where he began his crimes in the GAO, Clan del Golfo, in the year 2012 in Lorica, Cordoba; in 2016 he was sent to the municipality of Santiago de Tolu, Sucre, at the service of the criminal substructure Manuel José Gaitán and in the 2021, he was appointed as head of the component of this substructure who commits crimes in the rural area of the municipality, in charge of drug trafficking routes from the San Bernardo archipelago.
With this arrest, the Military Forces continue to carry out operations on a permanent basis, against organized crime in the Caribbean region, dealing heavy blows to the criminal structures of the Clan del Golfo to prevent their temporary or permanent settlement in the subregion and also to assist the Early Warning No. 061 of 2018, which activated the prevention and rapid reaction system in the municipality of San Onofre, Sucre.
