The Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the department of Chocó in coordination with the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Police, the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office of the Nation and the Seventh Division of the National Army arrested 14 members of the gang Los Mexicanos.
Among those arrested are four ringleaders of this criminal structure, who were the responsible of the extortions in the area, as well as responsible for homicides and the use of minors.
Through intelligence, prosecution, identification, and finding it was possible to establish that these individuals maintained a territorial dispute against some members of the Organised Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, committing several murders.
Those arrested are alias Mataperro, Paizorro, Morancho, Casierra, Willy, Zarco, Marlon or Popeye, Muelas, Neneyerda, Maira Cuco, Lia, Molecula and El Flaco, who were ringleaders of different areas in Quibdó, with logistical activities, as they were in charge of transporting personnel and weapons of the organization, money collectors of money from extortion, collectors and responsible for the distribution of pamphlets and they were also in charge of conducting intelligence to potential victims of extortion.
Alias El Flaco was in the list of the most wanted of the department of Chocó.
It is worth mentioning that during the week other Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) units reported different operations against kidnapping and extortion.
The Gaula Norte de Santander, along with the CTI, carried out the rescue of a minor in the municipality of Zulia, who had been kidnapped by members of the Héctor front of the GAO Eln, for recruitment purposes.
The Antioquia Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) with CTI (Technical Investigations Corps), carried out an operation and under pressure they secured the release of a merchant in the municipality of Sopetrán, who had apparently been kidnapped by members of the GAO Clan del Golfo.
In the same way, the men of Military Gaula Risaralda carried out two operations and arrested eight common criminality individuals, who would be required by the Colombian justice for the crime of aggravated extortion.
In the same way, the Cauca Military Gaula, together with the Police Gaula arrested three individuals of common criminlaty groups, who identified themselves as members of the residual GAO comandante Alfonso Cano, Second Marquetalia, to extort merchants of the region.
