The Colombian Navy, in coordination with government institutions, private companies and foundations, brought joy and well-being to more than a thousand people in a Development Support Activity in the insular area of Cartagena, Bolívar, contributing comprehensively to the inhabitants of the sector, providing humanitarian assistance, specialized medical assistance, school kits and the planting of 800 native trees.
In the frame of the inter-agency commitment to contribute to the well-being of the communities of Leticia, El Recreo, and Puerto Badel, the Navy of Colombia, through the coast Guard Station of Cartagena, with the support of the Mayor of Cartagena, the Foundation Canal del Dique and the Foundation SIS Diagnostics, carried out an Activity to Support the Development in which 482 specialized tests were conducted such as hematological tests, lipid tests, nourishing tests, and ultrasounds were made on children, adolescents, adults, and older adults; vaccination and deworming activity of canines, felines and pigs was in the same way carried out.
Additionally, with the participation of Cardique and the Professional Officers of the Naval Reserve of Cartagena, 70 school kits were distributed, about one hundred mangrove units and 800 native trees were planted along the Canal del Dique (Del Dique Channel).
Finally, the children and young people enjoyed a moment of leisure, painting, coloring and they also participated in different children's games, and recreational activities led by the workshop of the factory of dreams.
