This individual is accused of being the main ringleader of illegal finances of that residual organized armed group and the Western Coordinating Command. In addition, four years ago he would have participated in the creation of that terrorist structure.
After several months of detailed monitoring by the National Army together with the Prosecutor's Office, in the in recent hours there was the arrest of an individual accused of being alias Mono Pacho, who would be in charge of managing the illegal finances of the Carlos Patiño organized armed group.
The arrested individual, who was found in La Depressión, municipality of La Sierra, Cauca, would be in charge of the purchase and sale of cocaine hydrochloride bound for Central America, and would serve as a liaison with international drug cartels. On the other hand, alias Mono Pacho apparently is a fundamental piece in logistic activities of this GAO-r. His area of interference was in Argelia, El Tambo, Patía and Popayán, municipalities of the department of Cauca.
It should be noted that the importance of this individual within this residual organized armed group, would be equated to that of alias El Mocho, the main ringleader of the GAO-r Carlos Patiño. It is noteworthy that the arrested individual would have privileged information about links of officials of different institutions with this group outlaw.
Alias Mono Pacho was put into custody of the authorities for his judicial process, and must face charges of association to commit aggravated crimes, trafficking, manufacture and illegal carrying of firearms.
With this arrest, a resounding loss is generated, not only against the GAO-r Carlos Patiño, but also to the self-named Coordinating Command of the West, whose ringleader is alias Mayimbú. The National Army will continue to carry out military operations, in order to damage the factors of instability that commit crimes in this area of the country.
