The Colombian Navy, in joint river search and control operations with troops of the National Army, found 35,910 gallons of fuel on the Cauca and Magdalena rivers in the departments of Antioquia, Bolívar, Cesar and Córdoba.
In eight operations, 4,400 kilograms of cement, 100 kilograms of ammonium sulfate and 28,715 gallons of DIESEL were found by troops on the Cauca and Magdalena rivers in the vicinity of the municipalities of Achí, Bolívar; Nechí, Antioquia; Gamarra and La Gloria in Cesar.
In the same way, in the vicinity of the municipalities of Achí, Bolívar; Gamarra, Cesar and Tierralta in Córdoba, 7,195 gallons of gasoline were found by troops which were transported in different boats on the Cauca, Magdalena rivers and in the Urrá dam, as well as inside a truck-type vehicle that was in the Ferry sector, municipality of Gamarra, Cesar, in the vicinity of the Magdalena River.
The crew of the boats did not have the documentation and permits required by the authorities for their transport, so the material was confiscated and put into custody of the local authorities in these municipalities. No arrests were made in the course of the operations.
