The Military Forces continue to demonstrate their decisiveness against criminal groups. This time, during the simultaneous development of two joint, coordinated and inter-institutional operations conducted by the Colombian Navy, the National Army, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, where war material belonging to the Organized group was found in Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca.
The operation took place in the Alfonso López Neighborhood in locality three of the port city, where troops of the Military Forces, accompanied by the Attorney General's Office, arrived to enforce a search warrant in an abandoned house. Upon arrival at the scene, three shotguns, a rudimentary shotgun, three pistols, 15 pistols, 747 cartridges of different calibers and a grenade were found by troops.
Later, during a military search operation inside an abandoned and uninhabited palafito-type house, 122 rectangular packages with 118 kilograms of marijuana were found by troops. Five pistols, four rudimentary pistols and 56 cartridges were in the same way found at the scene.
The war material and the drugs belonged to the Organized group Gang La Local, Substructure Los Espartanos, who are in charge of making extortion against groups of traders in the localities 1, 2, and 3; in the same way they contend kidnappings, targeted killings and microtrafficking in the Special District of Buenaventura.
The war material and drugs found during the operations were put into custody of the authorities. No arrests were made.
