In the last week troops of the Buenaventura Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) in coordination with the National Police and the Investigation Corps of the Attorney General of the Nation, carried out different raid operations in which troops arrested 8 individuals, all apparently belonging to the Organized Gang, Shotas substructure.
After conducted intelligence work and coordinated work for several months, through decisive operation and military search of urban area, it was possible to reduce the criminal activity of this criminal structure.
In the first operation, a man and a woman were arrested, in charge of carrying out extortion against the productive groups of merchants of the 6th and 7th localities, as well as executing kidnappings, selective homicides and microtrafficking in the Buenaventura district.
During the second operation, in support with the Technical Investigation Corps of the Attorney General's Office, two more members of this criminal structure were arrested in the neighborhood of locality 1, who had narcotics, cocaine substance and derivatives.
The third tactical mission was carried out in the neighborhood of San Luis of the locality 7 and in conjunction with the National Police was arrested an individual, alias Cholo, in charge of extortion, kidnappings, targeted killings, troops also found 01 firearm type 9mm pistol, a the Jericho 941, Series 39313537, 01 magazine caliber 9mm and 13 cartridges caliber 9mm.
In the fourth phase, in the Guaca neighborhoods of Popayán and in the locality 8 of Buenaventura, two more members were arrested who would be wanted by the Colombian justice for the crimes of kidnapping and extortion.
The fifth operation, carried out in the municipality of Caicedonia and in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, troops made effective the arrest warrant of another member who is accused of the crimes of extortion and kidnappings in this region of the country.
