An important amount of communication elements was in the same way seized in the operation, from where the vast majority of orders to carry out criminal operations against civilians and Military Forces in this subregion came out.
The operations deployed by the troops of the National Army, in the subregion of Urabá region in Antioquia, Córdoba, and Chocó, continue to hit the Organised Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo which commits crimes in this region of the country; this opportunity was possible the dismantling a communications central from where they were coordinating actions against the civilians and the Military Forces and at the same time it was possible the arrest of alias Pilon and alias Palillo.
Through intelligence work and with military control of the area, troops of the National Army reached the village Leoncito of the municipality of Mutatá, Antioquia, where they gave arrested alias Pilon and alias Palillo, who apparently, through this central communications, directed terrorist operations in the municipality of Apartadó, Carepa, Chigorodó and Turbo, in the subregion of Urabá.
According to military intelligence information, in 2009 alias Pilón became part of the former FARC and continued in the Carlos Vásquez structure of the GAO Clan del Golfo, where he was promoted for his terrorist operations.
Currently he was serving as a ringleader and second ringleader of the armed component, where he was responsible for ordering extortion and targeted killings in the municipality of Mutatá, Antioquia; in the same way, the second arrested is alias Palillo, who served as main radio operator of the organization.
Thus, with the arrests of alias Pilón and Palillo, a significant loss is reflected within the criminal organization, taking into account the transcendence and criminal experience of the individuals.
The arrested and the communications material were put into custody of the authorities.
The individuals must face, among others, charges for the crimes of homicide and the manufacture, trafficking and carrying of firearms and ammunition.
